We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will support the MEP department in the end-to-end purchasing process for mechanical, electrical and plumbing materials and services — sourcing reliable vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring all procured items meet technical specifications and project timelines.
Key responsibilities
Strategic sourcing & tendering
- Source, evaluate and establish relationships with qualified suppliers and subcontractors for MEP materials (e.g. HVAC units, switchgears, piping systems).
- Prepare and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and tenders.
- Review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Contract negotiation & cost control
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms and service level agreements (SLAs) to secure the best value for the organisation.
- Monitor MEP market trends and forecast pricing fluctuations to optimise purchasing budgets and minimise project costs.
Supply chain & vendor management
- Manage vendor performance against set benchmarks for quality, cost and delivery reliability.
- Coordinate with project managers, warehouse teams and engineers to align material deliveries with construction and maintenance schedules.
- Mitigate supply chain risks, such as material shortages or logistical delays.
Documentation & compliance
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, pricing lists and supplier communications.
- Enforce compliance with organisational procurement policies and industry safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical), or a related field.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience within MEP contracting, construction, or building services.
- Deep understanding of MEP systems, materials and technical terminology.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical and cross-functional communication abilities.
