We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will support the MEP department in the end-to-end purchasing process for mechanical, electrical and plumbing materials and services — sourcing reliable vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring all procured items meet technical specifications and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

Strategic sourcing & tendering

  • Source, evaluate and establish relationships with qualified suppliers and subcontractors for MEP materials (e.g. HVAC units, switchgears, piping systems).
  • Prepare and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and tenders.
  • Review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements.

Contract negotiation & cost control

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms and service level agreements (SLAs) to secure the best value for the organisation.
  • Monitor MEP market trends and forecast pricing fluctuations to optimise purchasing budgets and minimise project costs.

Supply chain & vendor management

  • Manage vendor performance against set benchmarks for quality, cost and delivery reliability.
  • Coordinate with project managers, warehouse teams and engineers to align material deliveries with construction and maintenance schedules.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks, such as material shortages or logistical delays.

Documentation & compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, pricing lists and supplier communications.
  • Enforce compliance with organisational procurement policies and industry safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical), or a related field.

Experience & skills

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience within MEP contracting, construction, or building services.
  • Deep understanding of MEP systems, materials and technical terminology.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical and cross-functional communication abilities.
